A lot of Newcastle fans have been worrying about who their club will sign this summer, however, with two West Ham aces who both know the Premier League becoming available, the fans could finally see some money being spent. Michail Antonio and Cheikhou Kouyate could be signed in a double swoop for £25 million according to Sky Sports and it’s one that has caught the Magpies’ eyes.
Sky Sports say Cheikhou Kouyate and Michail Antonio are available for £10m and £15m. Would we take either of them at those prices?

The problem with Antonio is injuries, whilst Kouyate’s issue is inconsistency. The pair, on their day and when fit, are unbelievable and have the ability to drag a team from the relegation zone to mid-table when they get going, however, they very rarely get going. Rafa Benitez should be able to get the most from the pair if they do make the move from The London Stadium to St James Park it will be interesting to see how they fit in.
So far, the Geordies have been getting stuck into trying to sign both Andros Townsend and Kenedy and whilst the former is nearing a loan move back to Newcastle, it would take serious money to convince Townsend to sign and a lot of fans would rather see their resources pooled into signing more practical players like Antonio, who does what Townsend does but better and with more versatility.
You can see what the Newcastle fans on Twitter have made of the potential double swoop here:
Antonio yes, rate him but he’s struggled massively with injuries in recent years

Antonio yes. Better then Gayle and Atsu imo. Also versatile. Would not pay price for Kouyate

Antonio would be a steal if kept fit

Would have both for 20m split that between them how ever you like. Both solid prem squad players

Both decent players. Not massive improvements on what we have already though I’d say.

Antonio. A million percent.

It seems pretty clear from these tweets that the Magpies would be keen to get the two Hammers into the club for their Premier League pedigree and experience.
