Loads of Newcastle fans have been reacting to a tweet from January signing Valentino Lazaro, who weighed in on the decision to halt the Premier League until at least April 3rd.
The suspension of the league has probably come at the worst possible time for Steve Bruce’s side, as they were just returning to form after a horrific run of results to kick off the new year. Having won just one of their league matches in 2020, the Magpies returned to form with two consecutive wins in all competitions with victories over West Brom and Southampton.
Lazaro took part in both of those matches, grabbing his first goal for the club in the win at the Hawthorns before playing a short cameo in the 1-0 win at St. Mary’s. The 23 year-old has had a pretty eventful time on Tyneside since signing on loan in the January transfer window, picking up a red card against Crystal Palace, and his tweet on Friday got plenty of fans talking.
It’s a difficult situation for all of us but I think it is the right decision to not continue playing right now @premierleague. We have a responsibility for ourselves and everybody else.
Take care & stay safe!

One supporter simply replied asking both Lazaro and Jetro Willems to sign permanent deals in the summer, while others simply praise his verdict…
