Our Newcastle fans here in the Transfer Tavern are eager to see who their side manages to sign in the summer window as they look for their club to make the step back up to the Premier League.
The Magpies are back in the top flight after a year away, of course, and now the onus is on them to get in players that are going to be good enough to keep them in the division.
One such man that has been linked, then, is Tammy Abraham – by Chronicle Live – with the young striker tearing the second tier apart for Bristol City last season.
Indeed, the Chelsea-owned star really does deserve a chance to play in the top flight and the Magpies could be best placed to offer him just that for the new season.
As quoted by The Daily Mail, though, it appears as though he doesn’t actually know if he’ll be at St. James’ Park or, indeed, anywhere else next year.
He said when asked about his near future:
“I’m not sure what I’m doing next season, if I’m coming back, going elsewhere on loan or staying at Chelsea.
“I haven’t decided yet. You have to stay open and things may come at different times but I have to dream big and that’s what I’m going to be doing.”
This, then, could be a set-back of sorts for Newcastle who will surely want to put together their squad as soon as possible.
