Newcastle linked with in-form star as they plot Premier League return

Our Newcastle fans here in the Transfer Tavern are confident they will be promoted this season – even if they don’t necessarily win the league title in the Championship.

The Magpies have been going well this season and certainly look like they will be in the Premier League next year – along with fellow top two side Brighton.

The pair are both looking good for those automatic spots and though the title’s destination is undecided, one thing is for certain in the sense that both need to buy extra players ready for the top flight.

And, according to The People – via Chronicle Live – the Magpies will be looking into the signing of Willian Jose, the in-form striker currently at Real Sociedad in La Liga.

Whilst Dwight Gayle has been superb this season, Newcastle could still do with extra goal-scoring options and so the Basque-based forward would surely tick that box.

Indeed, he has eleven goals in 22 games and that would certainly make him a threat in the Premier League – which is where the club are obviously hoping to be.
