The Daily Mail's Craig Hope made some alarming claims about Steve Bruce's relationship with Allan Saint-Maximin and the Newcastle boss let rip during the build-up to the Magpies' game away at the Hawthorns yesterday. Predictably lots of the Toon Army have weighed in, with many roasting the football correspondent. One fan even suggested Hope "might as well end your career now" while another called him a "weasel".

Following Newcastle's goalless draw with Burnley last weekend, Hope reported Allan Saint-Maximin's future at Newcastle is in doubt after a bust-up with Bruce, with links to Premier League sides Crystal Palace and Wolverhampton Wanderers in recent weeks.

The manager vehemently denied the report and clashed with the journalist during the build-up to the FA Cup tie against Championship side West Bromwich Albion. A visibly angry Bruce rebuffed Hope's claims in a furious exchange last night, saying:

"Are you calling me a liar? Is that what you're calling me? I've had no row with Saint-Maximin."

The French speedster went on to start the fifth round match and provided a crucial assist as the scoreline finished 3-2 (Transfermarkt). Here's what these Newcastle fans had to say about Hope's comments...
