Micky Quinn was a guest on the Everything is Black and White Podcast just recently and talked about the only shining light of Newcastle's defeat to Crystal Palace.

Last Saturday was another disappointing afternoon for the Magpies as they fell short to Crystal Palace in a narrow 1-0 defeat at Selhurst Park.

Steve Bruce couldn't get his team going once again and Newcastle continue their bad run of form as they have only picked up one win in the last six games across all competitions - and that only came after a late goal in extra-time against Oxford United.

Still, for Quinn, there was one positive to take from the Palace game and that was Martin Dubravka.

Quinn said on the Everything is Black and White Podcast (26/2/2020): "Magnificent - we need a few more leaders like him. I want to see a bit of personality, character and that 'keeper has got it all. He's trying to drive the team on from a goalkeeper position. So to me - more leaders like him, and he's the positive at the moment in a very negative couple of weeks."

Of course, even though having a fantastic goalkeeper is a brilliant thing for every team, if he's the only shining light in the whole squad, then the Magpies could have a problem.

There's only so many times Dubravka can keep saving Newcastle with his heroics and sooner or later, that sort of thing will surely catch up with them, one way or the other.

Something has to change for Bruce's troops and it has to change now.

Newcastle fans, what did you think of Dubravka's display? Is he really the only good thing in your team at the moment? Let us know in the comments down below!
