Newcastle midfielder speaks out over massive Brighton clash

Our Newcastle fans here in the Transfer Tavern are gearing up for a crucial period of games in their season and cannot wait to see how their side does.

The Magpies have relinquished control of the Championship title race once again after they drew to Bristol City 2-2 at the weekend.

In truth, it could have been a loss with them 2-0 down and so they’ll have to be right at it when they go to Brighton for a title clash.

A game against promotion chasing Reading is to come shortly after that, too, and so ahead of this vital period our local Magpies are hoping their players are up for the challenge.

Indeed, Mohamed Diame has been speaking about just that and is more than aware that his club will have to be right at it to beat the Seagulls.

As quoted by Chronicle Live he said:

“There are still 13 games to go. So for me, that’s a long time.

“Brighton have been up there from the beginning. Last year they did well too. I think they will be trying to make sure what happened last season doesn’t repeat itself.

“They will want to avoid the play-offs. They will definitely be ready for us so we must be ready for them.”

It promises to be a very exciting game down on the south-coast, then, with many feeling that one of the two sides are going to win the division title this season.

A big clash, then, and our landlord cannot wait to see how it pans out.
