Our Newcastle fans here in the Transfer Tavern can’t wait to see who their side manages to sign in the summer window.
For sure, many are expecting the men from Tyneside to be busy and Rafa Benitez is the man charged with getting in the right players to help them stay in the top flight.
Certainly, then, it would be safe to imagine that Benitez has a good idea of who he wants to sign in the summer and we think he should do all he can to try and bring in Josh King from Bournemouth.
Make no mistake, Dwight Gayle had a superb campaign last season for the club in the Championship but there are indeed question marks over his ability to score goals in the top flight still.
And, as well as that, even if Gayle did adapt fine there’s still a shortage of other strikers to share the load meaning the Magpies certainly need at least one extra proven Premier League forward.
King, then, would be ideal with his 16-goals last season for the Cherries which saw him become one of the most talked about forwards outside of the top six clubs.
Certainly, then, Newcastle need to be looking at him over this summer window and with the tools they have available they should be able to put an attractive deal together.
All that remains to be seen after that, then, is whether or not King decides to move north.
