Rafa Benitez is still extremely keen to recruit some talented players in the January transfer window whilst his team struggle for consistency.
After making a profit in the summer, something only Watford managed to do as well, Newcastle fans are desperate to know where the money has gone and whether it will be used in January.
Despite a flurry of three strong victories, Newcastle are not out of the relegation dog-fight and will face a scrap to distance themselves from it.
For that to happen, they need to produce some top signings in the transfer window, to steer themselves away from danger.
Defenders would be a good idea and specifically, a player who can fill in at right-back and left-back, like Borussia Dortmund’s Jeremy Toljan can do.
Toljan, who is valued at £4.5 million on Transfermarkt, is a talent that hasn’t yet been given a proper chance at Borussia Dortmund, hence why Newcastle should plan a move to sign him.
With literally no appearances for the first team so far this season, the 24-year-old will surely be considering his options with the January transfer window right around the corner.
Newcastle fans, meanwhile, are fed up with Javier Manquillo and desperately want a better player like Jeremy Toljan to arrive and improve on their defensive woes.
Paul Dummett is currently injured and with no natural back-up, that further calls for Jeremy Toljan to make his way down to St James’ Park and show the league what he can do when given the chance.
It only takes one look at his 27 appearances last season to discover that Toljan is a solid defender who could do a brilliant job in helping Newcastle during their time of need.
