Newcastle have had a bad start to their Premier League campaign, leaving manager Rafa Benitez once again a lot of work to do to amend the situation.
After reportedly being promised he would be financially backed this season by owner Mike Ashley, Newcastle were one of few to make a profit this summer and a substantial one at that.
With such a great manager at the helm, many see it as a question of when he will leave for bigger and better things, judging by the way he has been treated. If though there is a change in fortunes this January, Newcastle have to invest their time looking for a goal-scorer and Moussa Konate could be their man.
Konate, (who is valued at £8.1 million on Transfermarkt) only moved to French side SC Amiens last summer but instantly he got off to the best start and had a cracking season. The 25-year-old scored 16 goals in all competitions and already this season has three to his name, proving to be a striker that Newcastle desire even more now.
With Rondon and Muto taking time to adjust to life with Newcastle, Moussa Konate could come into the equation as a completely different option for the Magpies compared with what they currently have available.
Konate has pace, power and skill to excel as a striker and all those attributes differ to what Rondon, Muto and Joselu possess.
Newcastle fans won’t need reminding of the new previous Senegalese strikers they have had in Papiss Cisse and Demba Ba, meaning if Konate even got close to performing as well as that pair, the Magpies would have found a goal-scoring source.
