Newcastle United remain up for sale with Mike Ashley looking to find a new owner for the Magpies.

Ashley has been vilified by the majority of the Newcastle fan base after years of underspending at St. James Park. Rafael Benitez has been vocal in his need for transfer funds and the Spaniard will be relieved to see the club break their transfer record to land Miguel Almiron in January. Staying in the Premier League will be vital to keeping the former Liverpool boss at the helm next season.

Magpies fans will be hoping the sale of the club will be passed in the summer and the new owner backs the ex-Madrid boss with some much-needed money. Plenty of areas in the squad is in need of improvement including left-back. Benitez landed Antonio Barreca on loan in January but a permanent solution is necessary.

One man Newcastle should look to sign is Atalanta star – Robin Gosens. Valued at £5.4m by Transfermarkt, the German joined the club in a cut-price deal from Heracles in the summer of 2017. Gosens has developed into a key player for the Serie A side, making 22 appearances in all competitions so far this season.

The 24-year-old has been in fine form during the current campaign, helping his side’s cause with one goal and two assists. Gosens is a fantastic defender, averaging an impressive 2.3 tackles and 1.3 interceptions in the league this season. He loves to get forward and help out the attack making him perfect for the system Benitez wants to implement on Tyneside (WhoScored).

The former Vitesse man is improving with every game and has all the attributes to be a success in England.
