Newcastle have not got off to a good start and the blame is solely on Mike Ashley who has again failed to deliver on his promises.
The owner was delighted with the Magpies’ 10th place finish last season and consequently said that money would be available for Rafa Benitez to spend to improve his Newcastle team.
After just weeks though, fans quickly realised that money wasn’t going to be available and fast forward to the end of the window, Newcastle were one of few teams to make a profit.
In the Premier League nowadays you have to spend to have any chance at being successful and Newcastle haven’t done that. January could well be a vital month for the Magpies to amend their disappointment but considering how Ashley doesn’t like spending, it could only be loan spells available.
With Bayern Munich’s Renato Sanches down in the dumps, a move back to England could allow the 21-year-old to reinvent himself and become a top player once again.
Sanches, in short, flopped massively when at Swansea last season and would consequently be regarded as one of the biggest flops in Premier League history.
So why should Newcastle both giving him another chance?
Simply put Renato Sanches, (who is valued at £18 million on Transfermarkt) was a player on top of his game just a few seasons ago and after claiming the accolades after Portugal’s Euro 2016 win, he bagged a move to Bayern Munich. With a number of talented players to contend with though, Sanches didn’t reach the heights expected of him and it was a loan move to England in hope of kick-starting his career once again.
