Our Newcastle fans here in the Transfer Tavern are certainly hoping that their side is going to get off to a flyer against Spurs this weekend.
The Magpies have been waiting a long time for this moment and it seems as though they might have been given a boost with Danny Rose doing his best to upset the apple cart.
Whilst we wait to see how that pans out, though, the club is still aiming to bring players to the north-east and one man that has just arrived is Kenedy from Chelsea on loan – as per The Mirror.
The talented Brazilian would normally bring a great deal of excitement with him to the Magpies but after his recent controversial antics on tour in China with the Blues, the celebrations are perhaps on hold.
Of course, if he starts scoring goals the Geordies won’t mind too much but he’s certainly got a big point to prove in this loan deal to both Newcastle and parent club Chelsea.
Manager Rafa Benitez will be hoping he does, then.
What a gamble this move is for Rafa Benitez.
Indeed, it seems rather indicative of the fact that the manager is now getting a bit desperate in the market to move for someone who is still fresh from getting a good rollicking off his current club.
It could work in the Magpies favour, of course, if Kenedy rolls his sleeves up but it’s a big if right now.
