Newcastle tipped for further forays into market in exciting development

Our Newcastle fans here in the Transfer Tavern cannot wait for the new season to start with them taking on Tottenham on Sunday afternoon.

The men from White Hart Lane will represent a strong test for the Magpies’ first game but you’ve got to play these sides at some point so why not try and get a result in front of your home crowd on day one.

Certainly, the Geordies are going to be in fine voice and it’ll be up to the players to try and translate that onto the pitch in aiming to get a win.

However they do, though, doesn’t seem to matter in terms of Rafa Benitez wanting to sign new players with Mark Douglas of the opinion on Twitter that the club is not done yet in terms of signing players:

For sure, then, the club has got a few more weeks to try and add to the squad before the window shuts and Benitez has to make do with what he’s got until January.

He’ll likely be pushing as hard as possible for new players to arrive, then, but it remains to be seen if he can manage to get the club to spend.

Landlord’s Verdict

Newcastle do still need a couple more players that are good enough for the Premier League and Benitez will feel he is the man to be able to attract those names.

For sure, he’s got the contacts and reputation to reel in top players and now it remains to be seen if his board backs him with the extra cash needed to do that.
