Newcastle fans in the Transfer Tavern will be echoing the thoughts of their captain that they need to keep Rafa Benitez at the club next season, despite all the problems that surround the Magpies.
It is public knowledge that the Spanish manager has become frustrated with the lack of transfer movement and his relationship with owner Mike Ashley has become strained.
However, should the club be able to stay in the Premier League, the Telegraph Sport are reporting that there would be a larger transfer budget than the one that had been given at the beginning of this season.
Benitez has managed to bring in the likes of Martin Dubravka, Florian Lejeune and Christian Atsu to the club this summer, however, he has had to make do with largely the same side that guided them back into the top-flight by winning the Championship last year.
If the club were able to retain their Premier League standing, the likelihood of the manager staying would increase, as well as the possibility of a sale, with the latest efforts to sell the club failing considerably.
The Newcastle fans in the Tavern will be desperate for their club to keep Benitez at the helm for as long as possible, whilst also staying in the Premier League as the main priority. Should the club stay up, the locals will be excited to see what players they will be able to attract in the summer to help them continue up the table.
