The Newcastle fans in and around the Transfer Tavern are hoping that some new arrivals liven the mood around St. James' Park pretty soon before the season begins.

Although finishing in a strong 10th position last season, Newcastle weren't all that convincing during moments in the season, something Rafa Benitez will look to amend with some new signings. Their biggest problem was scoring goals and although they somewhat improved that in the last few games, our punters believe the Spaniard should be eyeing Yoshinori Muto, who is valued at £5.4 million on Transfermarkt, as a solution to their problems.

Dwight Gayle had previously set the Championship alight with his scintillating form in front of goal, whereas this season as well as others, he couldn't find the back of the net on a regular basis. Muto, on the other hand, provides more than just goals and would be a terrific addition for Newcastle. The Japanese forward scored 10 goals and created 5 assists in his 30 total appearances last season, earning a call-up to his country's World Cup squad. The 25-year-old is a hard worker on and off the ball, having an effect on his teams all-round play, rather than just being a static striker.

He averages a goal in the Bundesliga every 3 games, a good record for a player that Newcastle should really look at signing this summer. After finishing in 10th place, they have a lot of work to do to sustain that pedigree of performance, something that can only be done by bringing new players into the club.
