Newcastle United castaway Achraf Lazaar is the subject of interest from three Europan clubs, according to The Chronicle.
The Moroccan was left out of Steve Bruce’s 25-man squad for the Premier League, but reportedly now has Fiorentina, Hellas Verona and Utrecht as potential suitors.
His contract at St. James’ Park runs until the summer of 2021, but it would be a surprise if he is with the club past this transfer window considering the fact he has been left out of the squad entirely.
Having failed to make a first-team appearance at Newcastle during the first half of last season, Lazaar went out on loan to Sheffield Wednesday for the second half of the campaign – where he played under Bruce.
The Morocco international made just four appearances during that period, with only two of them being starts and one coming in the form of a four-minute cameo at the end of a 3-0 win against Nottingham Forest.
The 27-year-old was entirely left out of the squad on 10 different occasions, while he was also left on the bench four times.
Considering how little he featured under Bruce in the second half of last season, it shouldn’t be too much of a surprise that he hasn’t made his Newcastle squad.
If the 27-year-old is able to secure a move to any of the three clubs (all in their respective top flights, Fiorentina especially of a big profile) who are reportedly in for him then he will have done well for himself when his current situation is kept in mind.
