Newcastle United host Crystal Palace next in the Premier League in a bid to return to winning form after a disappointing 1-0 loss away to Burnley, with one of the players of the season so far Federico Fernandez, along with other members of the squad, visiting the Royal Victoria Infirmary to meet patients and ultimately give something back.
Fernandez, alongside a few of his teammates, were pictured signing autographs and spreading a bit of Christmas joy in the children’s ward ahead of the Palace encounter on Saturday this weekend – with supporters flocking to Twitter and hailing his brilliant deed.
The Argentinian, whilst making a contribution off the pitch here, has made stellar contributions on it this season – scoring crucial goals in the wins over West Ham and Southampton.
His presence is undoubtedly one of the reasons Newcastle currently sit 11th in the table and are better off than at this stage last campaign under Rafa Benitez – with supporters hailing Fernandez’ latest gesture on social media.
Here’s what they had to say.

My daughter was one of the young nurses you met. She’s buzzing. Well done. Nice gesture
