Jetro Willems has been consistently going about his business since arriving on loan from Eintracht Frankfurt, and now fans want to see him sign on a permanent deal.
Should Newcastle sign Jetro Willems permanently?
Willems, who signed on a season-long loan deal in the summer, has been showing supporters just how high his ceiling could be – summed up in their 3-2 victory at West Ham.
The 25-year-old was instrumental in the crucial win, putting a teasing cross into the Hammers penalty area to set up Federico Fernandez for Newcastle’s second of the game.
He then went on to put Allan Saint-Maximin through on goal with an incredible sharp forward pass, with the Frenchman, unfortunately, failing to capitalise.
The Netherlands international has also been impressive statistically, already scoring one goal and registering two assists in black and white, including a 76.5% pass success rate, as per WhoScored.com.
As a result of Willems’ consistently decent performances, Magpies supporters have been begging the full-back to sign permanently on Tyneside after the £10m fee had been revealed by The Chronicle.
Here’s how they tried to persuade the defender on Twitter:
This guy needs signing now ⚫️⚪️
