As per the journalist, several clubs in the Premier League have voiced their concerns to the top flight regarding the deal at St. James’ Park due to piracy concerns about broadcasting England’s highest division in Saudi Arabia.
However, sources close to the bid insist that there have been no red flags as of yet, as Draper added that the proposed takeover is expected to be approved soon.
There has not yet been a finalised time stamp in terms of when the deal will definitely be completed, as there are still concerns with the Premier League with regards to piracy.
In addition, the Saudi-led consortium have not yet found out whether they have passed the owners’ and directors’ tests set out by the top flight, so it looks like members of the Toon faithful still have to play the waiting game.
Do you think any red flags have been raised in the takeover process?
Nevertheless, this news did give these Magpies at least some encouragement:
It is said that PIF have no influence over the Saudi state’s role in the BeoutQ piracy issue, meaning that blocking the deal over this is very unlikely. #NUFC
