Plenty of Newcastle United fans are drooling over the news that former manager Kevin Keegan could return to the Tyneside club, according to the Daily Mirror.
As per the article, ‘The Messiah‘ as he has been branded by one member of the St. James’ Park faithful, will be invited to take up an ambassadorial role when the takeover is finalised.
This could be announced with in the next ten days as the outlet understands that the Premier League are now within sight of giving Amanda Staveley’s P.I.F. consortium the green light to assume control.
As it currently stands, the Magpies have not been asked for any further details on the proposed acquisition, which means that the fit and proper persons’ test is close to being satisfied, with a final decision expected imminently.
The new owners are keen to generate goodwill and have earmarked Keegan’s homecoming as a high-priority.
These members of the Toon Army drooled over the news, with one supporter simply hailing him as ‘The Messiah’:
Funnily enough, it was one of the things I said they should do. Him, and @alanshearer would be great as club ambassadors.

Doing this is a good thing. It shows that they aren’t about to remove the heritage from the club. Bring in people who know and love the club, and know and love the city. It’ll help keep the core values.
