Some Newcastle United fans have been drooling over a report from Arena Napoli that claims that the Tyneside club have started talks with Napoli over a €40 million including bonuses move for Hirving Lozano in the upcoming summer transfer window.
However, there has been nothing concrete as of yet, as the two teams have simply been exchanging information on the Mexican forward. As per the report, Everton and West Ham United have also been warned in their pursuit.
Indeed, Lozano has arguably failed to live up to expectations in his debut season in Italy, having scored just three goals and provided two assists in 23 appearances in all competitions, according to Transfermarkt.
However, the 24-year old was brought from PSV for a reason given his relatively impressive campaign previous to his move. Lozano netted 21 times and made 12 assists in 40 games in all competitions in the 2018/19 term, as per the website.
Would Lozano be a good addition after the prospective takeover?
Perhaps taking his 18/19 stats into strong consideration, these members of the Toon faithful drooled over the winger on Twitter, with one suggesting a swap deal involving Joelinton:
Fair one. Always on the cards. Welcome to the Toon Lozano.

More typical paper talk, but was class in the 2018 World Cup!
