Newcastle United: Fans fear losing defender Javier Manquillo to West Ham United

According to a report from the Daily Telegraph via NUFC 360, West Ham United are plotting a bargain move for Newcastle United defender Javier Manquillo in the January transfer window with Brighton and Crystal Palace also interested – prompting fears from supporters that they may be about to sell their ‘best right back’.
Is Javier Manquillo Newcastle's best right-back?
Yes

No

The news comes after Steve Bruce’s side ended a run of two consecutive wins with a sub-par 1-0 defeat away to Burnley on Saturday afternoon, with Chris Wood’s strike mid-way through the second period condemning Newcastle to their first loss since the 2-0 humbling at Aston Villa.
During that brief unbeaten streak, with impressive results coming against Manchester City, Sheffield United and Southampton, one of their unsung heroes appeared to be Manquillo as he played every minute – and he seemingly provided a solid alternative to Emil Krafth and DeAndre Yedlin in the right-back position.
So far, this season, per WhoScored, the former Liverpool man has averaged more interceptions per game than his aforementioned teammates, as well as being dribbled past fewer times.
However, with this latest report, some Magpies supporters are fearful of losing the Spaniard in this looming transfer window – here’s how they reacted on social media.
