Responding to a club post which showcased his superb goalkeeping display against Tottenham Hotspur back in 2013/2014, former Magpies shot stopper Tim Krul had nothing but kind words to say about his past career on Tyneside – citing the good memories he has playing for the club.
Who would you rather have?
Krul, who was part of the famed 2011/2012 Newcastle side which finished fifth and qualified for the Europa League, played a vital role during that campaign and for a few seasons afterwards before he eventually left the North East.
The Dutchman made 185 appearances for the Magpies before eventually moving to AZ Alkmaar and then Norwich City – where he is currently in the midst of a relegation battle.
However, that hasn’t stopped him from feeling nostalgic over past glories with his former club – prompting supporters to praise their former number one on social media.
Here’s how supporters reacted to the keeper’s message on Twitter after reliving his fantastic performance at White Hart Lane.
Last decade now but I still remember your debut against Palermo – a 90 minute masterclass!

Modern favourite keeper for Toon, sad to have seen you go.

King Tim. My fave keeper of all time. Just the measly 17 saves that day.

You should still be NUFC number ONE
