Loads of Newcastle United fans are fuming at a takeover verdict coming from Sky Sports News reporter Keith Downie after he shared his thoughts on his official Twitter page.
Whilst he says that he can understand members of the Toon faithful being desperate for a timescale on the prospective takeover, he claims that anybody putting a date on it is just taking a punt. He also added that it is worth remembering that the Premier League have a lot on their plate at present.
This tweet caused a mixed reaction amongst Magpies, but loads of them fumed after reading it. It is understandable that several NUFC supporters are becoming increasingly frustrated that the deal has yet to go through having endured an arguably tough time under Mike Ashley for 13 years at St. James’ Park.
However, the top flight will not fully approve of the bid until they are 100 per cent confident in their decision and there have been obstacles in the way in recent weeks that suggest that they might want to take a second thought before they give it the go-ahead.
Do you think news outlets are just taking punts with takeover dates?
Nevertheless, these fans fumed upon reading Downie’s verdict:
premier league don't just have one person working for them, they can do more than one thing at once

How hard is it to say yes or no yes you have passed or no you haven’t simple as yeah I know there is a pandemic but that’s not stopping them from holding meetings about getting football started again it’s a complete JOKE

They have a lot of people working for the premier league. They should be competent enough to deal with more than one issue at a time. Playing it down doesn’t help. Fans are just anxious to get rid of mike ashley.
