Aaron Hickey has burst into the Hearts first team at just 17-years-old, with a host of top clubs reportedly (per the Scottish Sun) monitoring the teenager’s progress.
Indeed, the youngster’s almost out-of-the-blue rise to footballing stardom has been nothing short of phenomenal, with the teenager having to compete with the very best in the SPFL at such a young age – making his debut last season in a loss to Aberdeen, then playing the Scottish Cup final against Celtic just two weeks later. According to the Guardian, that performance was enough to catch the attention of Manchester City.
As a result, the Scotland U19s international has continued to mature at an accelerated pace under Craig Levein in this Jambos side, starting seven games and scoring his first professional goal for the club already.
It really is no wonder that he is linked with the biggest clubs in Premier League football, including Newcastle United.
However, in response to the rumours, Newcastle fans have had somewhat of a mixed reaction to his name dropping – with some supporters calling him mediocre because he plies his trade in Scotland.
Scottish Premier League level, so he’s about championship level at best then!
