Newcastle United: Fans laud brilliant Allan Saint-Maximin moment during Southampton win

Newcastle United snatched a crucial and deserved victory over Southampton at St. James’ Park on Sunday. And while new hero Allan Saint-Maximin leaving the pitch with a hamstring injury would have been a disappointment, some supporters took solace in his on-field antics during the dramatic 90 minutes.
The Magpies beat Southampton 2-1 courtesy of goals from Jonjo Shelvey and Federico Fernandez after in-form opposition striker Danny Ings originally gave the visitors a lead.

However, for some supporters, Saint-Maximin’s brief moment of trolling during a Newcastle free-kick also caught the eye – mainly due to the Frenchman toying with a Saints defender by fainting a run into the box just to see how tightly he is being man-marked.
Whilst most viewers didn’t pick up on the moment, a handful of Magpies supporters watched on at his antics with a smile.
Here’s what they had to say on Twitter, with one fan dubbing Saint-Maximum as the “GOAT”.
