Newcastle United: Fans laud takeover claim from Northumberland Councillor

Many Newcastle United fans have been lauding a claim about the prospective takeover in the North East from Northumberland Councillor Richard Wearmouth after his views were revealed in the Northumberland Gazette.
As per the outlet, the cabinet member for economic regeneration at Conservative-led Northumberland County Council says that the Tyneside club’s takeover by the Saudi-led consortium is vital for the future of the North East economy.
He claims that the deal is one of the single most significant economic and socially transformative things that could happen in Tyneside and the wider area. Wearmouth adds that when the Magpies thrive, so does everyone in the area and so they should back the bid.
Indeed, this has received some positive responses from several members of the Toon faithful, who appreciate the shared thought of wanting the proposed takeover to finally be approved by the Premier League.
Do you think that non-football people should get involved?
Yes

No

These NUFC supporters in particular lauded the claim on NUFC 360‘s Twitter page:

When he says wider area he’s right…..a local rival to the most powerful football club in the world could actually increase the attractiveness of @safc or @GatesheadFC whichever gets to Premier league first 😀😀
