Newcastle United: Fans laud takeover news as Premier League close to signing off deal

Many Newcastle United fans have been lauding news about the prospective takeover in the North East as Football Insider understands that the Premier League are close to signing off the deal for the Saudi-led consortium to buy the Tyneside club.
As per the outlet, the ruling body have overseen a forensic investigation into allegations of illegal streaming involving the Saudi government and a homegrown pirate television and streaming service.
A source at St. James’ Park has told FI that the top flight has yet to find sufficient evidence to support blocking Mike Ashley’s proposed £300 million sale.
The delay in announcing the takeover, backed by Saudi Arabian crown prince Mohammed bin Salman, has led to suggestions that the CEO of Sports Direct may consider alternative buyers.
However, a deposit has been paid and all the relevant paperwork has been signed, and the bid will be finalised if it gets approval from England’s highest division.
