NUFC 360 then shared the tweet on their page with a caption of a pair of emoji eyes, implying that members of the Toon faithful should look more closely into the post.
White flags traditionally symbolise surrender and so as some Magpies have suggested judging by their comments, this could possibly be a signal towards the takeover situation at St. James’ Park.
Whilst a deal has not yet been completely finalised, it is certainly on the table and, judging by some of the comments, lots of NUFC supporters are hoping that the Saudi-led consortium, spearheaded by businesswoman Amanda Staveley, are successful in their bid.
If the takeover goes through, it would mean an end to the reign of 13 years from Mike Ashley as Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Reuben brothers and Staveley would all be part-owners in the North East.
Should you read anything into the tweet?
