As per the outlet, Maguire is confident that the Premier League will not intervene to block the change of hands, and also believes the takeover could actually help get to the root of the problem of piracy in Saudi Arabia.
He added that ‘there is piracy all over the world,’ hinting that it may not be as big of a problem to the Tyneside club as it has been made out to be.
Maguire also has his say on the owners’ and directors’ tests set out by the top flight, which checks to see if the would-be owners have has any ‘outstanding’ convictions and added that there is ‘no evidence’ that has currently been put forward regarding bankruptcy or involvement with other clubs in the Saudi-led consortium.
Do you think the would-be owners will pass the tests?
