Many Newcastle United fans have reacted to a report from the Daily Mirror that stated that the Tyneside club could be subject to a second bid if the Saudi-led consortium fail in their attempts to buy the Magpies.
The bid is reportedly worth £350 million and is believed to come from American media mogul Henry Mauriss, who has been negotiating with Mike Ashley since last year.
But his attempt to buy the Toon is in cold storage whilst the Premier League deliberate on a proposed £300 million deal from Saudi Arabia spearheaded by businesswoman Amanda Staveley.
That agreement with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is coming under intense scrutiny, with human-rights issues an increasing worry for bosses in the top flight.
This could put Californian Mauriss in the perfect position to succeed with a rival bid if no deal can be reached with the Saudis.
These NUFC supporters reacted to the news on Twitter, here is what some had to say:
Takeover will happen tomorrow! 🤞
