As per the report, the would-be buyers of the Tyneside club are hoping that the resolution of Project Restart will clear the path for the Premier League to conclude their ongoing owner’s and director’s test.
Should the proposed takeover have been completed by now?
A series of long-winded video conferences and paperwork has not helped the takeover process for businesswoman Amanda Staveley, the billionaire Reuben brothers and Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), fronted by the country’s crown prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS).
However, the resumption of the top flight, after two months of no football due to the outbreak of the global pandemic, has slowed down the process of the £300 million deal.
Some members of the Toon faithful have reacted in a negative way to this as it seems as if they have become increasingly frustrated with the delays, indeed this has now been dragging on since March. However, there are others seem more patient to wait.
Check out the reaction from these NUFC supporters below:
Well that’s a shock. I thought they’d not be bothered about a decision…..🙄 #NUFC

After 7 weeks you’d think the decision was ready to be made.
