Newcastle United: Fans react to transfer link for Philippe Coutinho

Many Newcastle United fans have reacted to a transfer link for former Liverpool man Philippe Coutinho after Mundo Deportivo reported that the Tyneside club are one of a few Premier League teams interested in signing the 27-year old in the summer transfer window.
According to the article, Chelsea, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are also chasing the FC Barcelona star, who is currently on loan at Bayern Munich. The Brazilian international would be lined up as the ‘flagship’ signing of the new NUFC era if the proposed takeover goes through.
Coutinho made quite the impression when he was in the top flight with the Reds, scoring 41 goals and providing 37 assists in 152 appearances across six seasons, as per Transfermarkt. The £50.4 million-valued midfield player has also represented Inter Milan and boasts 61 senior caps for his country, netting 17 times.
These members of the Toon faithful reacted to the news on Twitter, with one supporter, jokingly or not, saying that he would ‘be a great back up to Matty Longstaff’:
2 weeks back it was freebies and unheard of cheap players
