Newcastle United: Fans slam Graeme Souness’ ‘rubbish’ takeover talk

Many Newcastle United fans have slammed Graeme Souness’ ‘rubbish’ takeover talk after the former Magpies boss warned the Tyneside club that they will not find it easy in the transfer market.
Speaking on Sky Sports’ The Football Show (via ChronicleLive), the 66-year old claimed that attracting players up to the Toon will be difficult unless they can pay them way beyond the going rate. He highlighted that NUFC have had to pay a premium to get good players to go up there and is not sure whether the very best would follow.
The pundit added that players are more likely to be attracted to London because players can now afford the very best of what is on offer in England’s capital city.
Only time will tell whether Souness is correct but the new owners will surely be wanting to spend some of their money if they would like to attract better players to the football club and with that hopefully achieve success.
Nevertheless, these supporters slammed their former manager’s comments, with one fan branding them ‘rubbish’ before he had even read them:

I’ll tell you one thing – it’ll be a lot easier to attract players when Ashley’s gone!! His pitch – come to a club with no ambition, terrible outdated training facilities, average manager, I’ll pay you the minimum I can, I’ll sell you as soon as I can at a profit – I could go on!

Did we struggle to attract @teamginola who was with PSG at the time playing CL football? @TinoasprillaH @GWijnaldum captain of PSV? No! If the players want to play for the club, fans, the vision, they will come! #NUFC
