It hasn’t been the best start to his loan spell at Carlisle United for Elias Sorensen.
The Danish striker joined the Cumbrians on loan from Newcastle United in the summer but has managed to start just one of their nine League Two outings so far.
It must have been hoped that a loan move to the EFL would allow Sorensen to gain more first-team experience, though chances to play appear to be at a premium for the 20-year-old who found himself representing Carlisle’s reserves recently.
Speaking about the player and his lack of game time, Carlisle manager Stephen Pressley said that Newcastle wanted the player to get more minutes but also stated that they “respect us managers have to make these decisions.” (Via The Chronicle)
The Magpies and the man in charge of arranging loan spells for their youngsters Shola Ameobi may now have to consider recalling him and exploring other potential opportunities for him. Despite being capped at under-21 level by Denmark, he hasn’t managed to succeed so far in English football and also endured a torrid loan spell at Blackpool last season where he played just once.
As a result of his struggles in the lower leagues, a few Newcastle fans on Twitter have been claiming that the player simply isn’t good enough to have a future at St. James’ Park.
Perhaps he isn’t good enough? Same happened last season when he went out on loan.

Not good enough

He’s obviously not done enough to justify a starting position yet. There is nothing else to monitor…

Probably because his attitude stinks

If he wants to get in the team he has to play well. He hasn’t. Simple as.
