Newcastle United: Geordie fans react to club legend Demba Ba’s tweet - Newcastle United

Veteran striker Demba Ba revealed his appreciation for former Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor and unsurprisingly loads of Magpies replied to his tweet.

Ba quoted a tweet from the club’s official Twitter account showing footage of Steven Taylor’s mind games against Stoke City and commented “Steven… I miss you crazy.”

The former Senegalese international starred in over 50 games for the Black and Whites, scoring 29 goals and creating 7 assists in all competitions, before departing for Chelsea for a transfer fee of £7.65m (Transfermarkt).

After forming a potent partnership with Papiss Cisse, with the pair scoring 29 goals between them in the 2011/2012 season, Ba achieved a cult-hero status amongst the Tyneside fan base.

The 34-year-old currently plies his trade with Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir FK, scoring 10 goals and creating 5 assists in 20 appearances in Süper Lig, and the Owls are currently tied with Trabzonspor on 53 points (Transfermarkt).
