According to The Chronicle, Newcastle United plan to add “three or four quality players in the summer” and have already identified them.
Speaking to The Telegraph, Magpies boss Steve Bruce said: “We have identified transfer targets and when this blows over, we will make the moves to get them. We know what we need.”
Despite the uncertainty surrounding the upcoming transfer window, this will undoubtedly be a proving ground for Bruce, who missed out on the majority of last summer as most of the club’s contracts at the time were already inked.
The Black and Whites head coach promised to only bring in signings who will add some much-needed value to the squad back in January and the board responded by bringing in Danny Rose, Nabil Bentaleb and Valentino Lazaro on short-term loans until the end of the season (Chronicle).
Naturally Bruce’s comments have provoked loads of reactions from the Toon Army, with many condemning the board’s transfer plans, and one fan slammed the report as “PR garbage.” Another supporter scathingly noted the quality players could turn out to be “just like Joelinton.”
