Newcastle United fans here in the Tavern are desperate for their side to secure another season in the Premier League, as they’ve struggled to adjust in the current campaign.
The Magpies seem to be moving clear of the dreaded relegation zone with only eight games remaining, but a negative result in today’s relegation crunch match against Huddersfield Town could push them back into trouble.
Indeed, Matt Ritchie raised concern during the international break as he was struggling with his groin after playing for Scotland, but fitness expert Ben Dinnery has revealed some positive news for Newcastle United fans on Twitter.
Ritchie fitness boost. "I'm better. I was struggling with my groin after the [#SCO] game and I took the decision to come away and make sure I could prepare for [Huddersfield] on Saturday. Today I trained with the squad and I'm feeling good." #NUFC pic.twitter.com/J73BtNzKeG

This is great news for Newcastle United as they head into arguably the biggest game in their season, with Matt Ritchie being of great importance from here on in. But, the one thing that delighted many of our locals was his choice to return home, as he’s focused on grinding out world-class performances for the Magpies at a crucial time. Indeed, Ritchie’s fitness boost could be the defining moment in Newcastle United’s campaign, as he’ll have a huge part to play in the important fixture.
Matt Ritchie’s fitness boost will certainly be welcome news for the club as they head into arguably their biggest remaining fixture, with anything less than a win being a disaster. And, the Scotsman’s creativity in the final third against a sturdy Huddersfield defence will be huge, as Ritchie has often come to the rescue for the Magpies.
