He’s revealed the Toon Army are amongst a host of clubs reportedly interested in a move for Everton midfielder James McCarthy. They, along with Leicester City and West Bromwich Albion are all thought to retain an interest in the Republic of Ireland international, who may fall victim to the Toffees’ recent overhaul.
The likes of Davy Klaassen, Morgan Schneiderlin, Gareth Barry and Idrissa Gueye will all contest central midfield roles at Goodison Park next term. Still, Everton are thought to have slapped a £25m valuation on McCarthy, a figure that might price the Toon out.
If it were up to the Newcastle fans in the bar, they’d definitely pay it…
