Newcastle United: Magpies fans react to Nabil Bentaleb’s #StayAtHomeChallenge attempt

Newcastle United’s official Twitter account shared footage of Nabil Bentaleb’s epic attempt at the viral #StayAtHomeChallenge, encouraging various reactions from loads of Magpies.Β
Following his teammate Allan Saint-Maximin’s effort, the Algerian international started the clip by washing his hands with anti-bacterial hand gel, before passing a toilet roll on-and-off camera, then juggling the household object between his feet in a series of keepy-ups and casually passing it off-screen.

Since moving to Tyneside from Bundesliga side FC Schalke 04 in January for a loan fee worth Β£900k, Bentaleb has played in three games in the Premier League for Steve Bruce’s Black and Whites, picking up two yellow cards (Transfermarkt).
The 25-year-old averages 1.7 key passes, completes 0.7 dribbles, and only takes 0.3 shots per game in the English top tier this season. His overall statistical rating is currently registered at 6.68 via WhoScored.
Although the board do have the option to buy Bentaleb in the summer, it remains to be seen whether or not they will take up the offer, as the centre-midfielder has struggled to make much of an impression on the pitch.
As expected the club’s tweet prompted lots of replies from the Toon Army, with one supporter calling him a “baller,” and another commenting “nice tekkers.” Other fans poked fun at the fact Bentaleb nominated Brazilian striker Joelinton to attempt the challenge.
Take a peek at some of the mixed reactions below…
