Newcastle United: Magpies fans react to update on Valentino Lazaro’s future

Inter Milan are confident Newcastle United will offer Valentino Lazaro a permanent contract, according to a report from TuttoMercatoWeb via The Chronicle.
After arriving in Tyneside from Milan on a short-term loan, Lazaro has only featured in five games for Steve Bruce’s Black and Whites this season, although he did bundle in the winner against West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns in the FA Cup fifth round. The 24-year-old also picked up a red card in his second appearance versus Crystal Palace (Transfermarkt).
The Austrian international has won 23 caps and scored three goals for The Boys. His market value is rated at £17.1m via Transfermarkt.
The Nerazzurri reached an agreement with the Tyneside club in January, giving the Magpies the option to buy at £21.5m if they want to keep a hold of the midfielder. Antonio Conte has made it clear Lazaro isn’t part of his plans and as such the board could make a move for him in the summer (The Chronicle).
Admittedly, it looks like Lazaro is an improvement on Christian Atsu on the right flank, as he is providing more key passes on average, making more crosses and achieving a higher pass success percentage at 83.3%, implying the winger could make a difference if Bruce’s side want to push further up the table next season (WhoScored).
How much is Joelinton worth?
£20m or more

Less than £20m

Predictably plenty of Mags reacted to the transfer update on Twitter, with one supporter tweeting “don’t sign him as a right back,” and another suggesting Lazaro is “not very good.”
Take a look at some of the mixed reactions down below…
ASM, New striker Lazaro front 3 with Almiron behind the new striker as an AM – pretty decent attacking line. Just hope they don’t sign him as a RB, the one game he played further forward he showed a lot of promise!

Not shown enough, ok going forward, was dodgy defending especially first few games. Needs more games to prove himself, unfortunately corona put and end to that.
