According to a report by the Chronicle Live, Rafa Benitez has started to plan for the future at St. James’ Park with the addition of Spanish scouts based in the mainland of Spain and central Europe.
The recruitment of these men will help the Toon Army in finding talent abroad, which would be cheaper for them to purchase and bring to the Premier League compared with other leagues.
It is not a new process for Benitez, with the manager doing the same thing during his time at Liverpool, however, it could signal that he is fully committed to the cause in the north-east, delighting punters in the Transfer Tavern.
Newcastle will be keen to add to their developmental ranks with European talent in the summer, has released a number of academy players in the last week. He has admitted he intends to increase the number of homegrown players coming into the first-team as well.
