Newcastle United fans here in the Tavern are delighted with how their side has performed over the past month, as relegation worries now seem to be a thing of the past for the Magpies.
Indeed, Rafa Benitez has managed to rally his troops at the perfect time as they no longer flirt with the possibility of relegation, with plans already being put in place for the start of the summer transfer window. Unsurprisingly, the Magpies are looking to bolster their attack after a torrid season in the final third, as according to SunSport, Newcastle United are eyeing up Bournemouth striker Josh King.
Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez wants a new No 9 and Bournemouth’s Josh King is top of his targets, but this could only be made possible if he can get the go-ahead from Mike Ashley to invest in the £20 million-rated striker.
The Norwegian has always had pace and power as his two most dangerous assets but now he has added some maturity to his game and Rafa Benitez thinks he would bring more to his side.
Encouragingly, Josh King could be persuaded to leave the Cherries if the deal is right and the Magpies will put a package together shortly for the club and the player.
The pacey forward has always been a danger to any defender that comes up against him, so Newcastle United will be desperate to bring him to St James’ Park to have the same effect against opposition defenders next season. And, with Benitez looking to build an ambitious team over the course of the summer months, perhaps this is something that will attract the 26-year-old.
