Newcastle United fans here in the Tavern are delighted with the Magpies’ current league position, as they appear to be heading for another season in the Premier League. 

The Magpies will be hoping they can move on from this season’s disasters by securing another season in the Premier League, after giving supporters very little to shout about so far this campaign. Although, their last top-flight encounter certainly raised hopes at St James’ Park, as they picked up a huge three points at the expense of Southampton.

However, there’s still doubts surrounding Rafa Benitez’s future at the club as their Premier League status for next season is still yet to be confirmed, with Mike Ashley still playing in the back of the Spaniard’s mind. Indeed, the 57-year-old has been less than impressed with the lack of funds that the Newcastle owner has provided, and has conflicting thoughts on whether he wants to remain on Tyneside at the end of the season.
