Newcastle United would be seriously smart to acquire £7.2m-rated Premier League forward

It has been a really good season for Rafa Benitez and his players as the Newcastle fans within the Transfer Tavern are realising their beloved team is heading closer and closer towards safety.

Although at times many thought that the Magpies would be destined for the drop, Rafa Benitez has continued to defy the odds and survive a season in the Premier League with a budget not quite adequate compared to teams around them. This season must be proof to the owners that they have a quality manager so they should reward his hard work with more money to spend this upcoming transfer window.

A player that us punters think would make a great signing at St James’ Park is Everton’s Oumar Niasse, who is valued at £7.20 million on Transfermarkt. Although some may consider the 27-year-old as an average player, his 11 goals in 22 appearances should suggest otherwise.

Newcastle have struggled for goals all season long but with the chance to buy a player who is already proven in the Premier League, it shouldn’t take long to realise that Oumar Niasse has the potential to be a good player for the Magpies. Everton will be sure to have a clear out of players this summer with the hope of returning to the Europa League next year and it seems that Niasse isn’t part of their plans.

Our punters believe that the summer will be a hugely important time for Newcastle to strengthen their squad in order to cement their stay in the Premier League, rather than being a club that floats between the two divisions.

Thoughts… Would Niasse make a good signing for Newcastle?
