Newcastle have made a desperately bad start to the season and already fans are fearing the worst as to what might happen with their team.
Rafa Benitez has been let down once again and it wouldn’t be at all surprising for fans to see the Spaniard depart St James’ Park.
That simply cannot afford to happen as Newcastle would be in deep, deep trouble without him. So, the only reasonable solution is for the owner Mike Ashley to back him in the transfer window, yes you read that right.
Although Ashley has never delivered upon promises, he simply has to invest in the next transfer window for the Magpies to have any chance at survival.
A key addition could be an attacking midfielder in the form of PSV Gaston Pereiro, who could reignite Newcastle’s attack and make them a more dangerous side to come up against.
Pereiro, who is valued at £13.5 million on Transfermarkt, is a player with a great deal of quality and best of all he is young with time on his side.
The 23-year-old has continued to orchestrate everything good in a successful PSV side who have made the Champions League group stage yet again.
Pereiro has been instrumental this season already, providing five goals and two assists in his seven league games so far.
Playing mainly as an attacking midfielder or as a winger capable of playing on either side, Pereiro would be a welcome attacking talent at Newcastle, seeing as the Magpies are the joint-second lowest goalscorers in the top flight.
Nothing has gone right for Newcastle this season who are still without a win but with an audacious move for such a talented player like Gaston Pereiro, it might just help fans get behind their team even more.
