Perfect weekend: Newcastle United

Perfect weekend: Newcastle United
Newcastle United would have set their sights on a top-half finish in the current campaign, but they’re still waiting for their first win.

Indeed, the Magpies have been a huge disappointment so far this season as Rafa Benitez continues to struggle, with the thought of relegation beginning to haunt many supporters.

Although, the Tyneside club will be looking to put things right today when they take on a struggling Manchester United side at Old Trafford. Newcastle United have the perfect opportunity to send a statement to the rest of the Premier League, with a victory against the Red Devils going a long way to making this a perfect weekend.

Of course, picking up points at this stage and other teams slipping up around them would be the ideal situation.

With that in mind, here is the perfect weekend for the Magpies…

YOSHINORI MUTO FINALLY BANGS

Yoshinori Muto made the move to St James’ Park during the summer transfer window as he joined from German Bundesliga side Mainz on a four-year deal.

However, the Japanese international hasn’t been able to find his feet since making the move, with supporters beginning to think that he was a complete waste of money.

But, if he manages to bag a goal against Manchester United this weekend then Newcastle will have found themselves another goalscoring outlet, with three points being sure to follow at Old Trafford.

SOUTHAMPTON LOSE

Newcastle United currently find themselves struggling near the foot of the table on just two points after seven disappointing games. But, things could get a whole lot better if results start going their way and their close competitors begin to slip up in their Premier League fixtures.
Southampton are three points ahead of the Magpies after seven games, so seeing them produce a negative result would be sure to put supporters in a fine mood, with the opportunity to close the gap and avoid drifting away.
