Our Newcastle fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping that the sluggish start to the summer window is not going to be indicative of a frustrating few months.
Indeed, so far the Magpies have really laboured in trying to get signings through the door and if that continues Rafa Benitez, like the supporters, is bound to grow unhappy.
For sure, then, Newcastle need to start getting their act together in the market but it appears that that should be happening soon with some promising news being provided by Chronicle Live.
Indeed, they are reporting that the club aims to have the majority of its business done by August 6th – the date of a friendly with Hellas Verona and also just under a week from the start of the new season.
That, then, is a better sounding update for the fans who will inevitably been worried that the club is not in an organised way for this window.
A date has been said, though, and now it is up to the Magpies to deliver on it.
