Our Newcastle fans here in the Transfer Tavern are seriously counting down the days until they can see their side kick a Premier League ball again.
Indeed, it is not too long until that comes to pass and our landlord reckons that of all the promoted sides, Newcastle are best placed to ensure they stay in the top flight past 2017/18.
Of course, that is easier said than done and the men from Tyneside need to put the work in now to make sure they have a squad good enough to achieve just that.
Who comes in, then, remains to be seen over the coming months but – according to Lee Ryder on Twitter – Florian Lejeune is a player that the club is hoping to agree a deal for soon:

The La Liga based defender is bang in his prime at 26-years-old and could represent a typical Rafa Benitez signing where few will have heard of him yet he still ends up being a good player for the club.
